The highly anticipated Bollywood comedy Welcome to the Jungle, starring Akshay Kumar, has recently made headlines after reports emerged that the film’s production had been paused. While initial rumors suggested that the shoot was stalled due to payment issues involving cast and crew, reliable sources close to the production have now clarified the actual reason.
According to multiple credible news outlets, the filming was temporarily suspended due to a terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where a portion of the movie was scheduled to be shot. In light of the security situation, the makers decided to postpone the Kashmir schedule for the safety of the cast and crew.
A significant portion of the film—estimated at around 70%—has already been completed. The remaining scenes, which were to be filmed in picturesque outdoor locations, are now being rescheduled. The team is reportedly planning to shift the final leg of shooting to a safer location, potentially after the monsoon season.
Despite the delay, there is no change in the film’s ensemble cast, which includes over 30 actors. All key members, including Akshay Kumar, are said to be fully committed to the project. Production sources confirmed that morale remains high and preparations are underway to resume shooting soon.
Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, Welcome to the Jungle is the third installment in the popular Welcome franchise. The film is slated for a Christmas 2025 release, and fans are eagerly awaiting its comic chaos and action-packed drama.
The filmmakers have assured audiences that the delay is only temporary and the final phase of shooting will commence shortly once logistical and security arrangements are in place.
