A shocking incident unfolded in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district where a minor billing error led to a serious confrontation between a police officer and petrol pump staff. The altercation escalated to physical assault, drawing public attention and outrage.
According to local sources, the police officer had stopped at the petrol station and requested fuel worth ₹120. However, due to a miscommunication or clerical error, the staff filled petrol worth ₹720 into the officer’s vehicle. Realizing the mistake, the officer became enraged and allegedly slapped the pump attendant.
In response to the slap, other staff members at the petrol station reportedly joined in and physically assaulted the officer. The confrontation drew a crowd, and bystanders captured videos that quickly began circulating on social media platforms, fueling public debate over the conduct of both parties.
The local police are investigating the matter. A case has been registered, and statements from both sides are being recorded. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from the petrol pump to determine the sequence of events.
