🌟 Maha STRIDE Launched: A New Blueprint for All-Round Development
The Government of Maharashtra officially launched the ambitious ‘Maha STRIDE’ (Mission for Integrated Transformation and Regional Advancement) initiative in Nagpur. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and senior officials unveiled a bold new roadmap aimed at accelerating the state’s economic and social progress.
📊 Target: ₹35 Lakh Crore GSDP in 5 Years
Maharashtra’s current Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) stands at approximately ₹45 lakh crore, a significant rise from ₹15 lakh crore in 2013-14. Through Maha STRIDE, the government has set a goal to further boost GSDP by ₹10 lakh crore in the next five years, making it a total of ₹55 lakh crore by the end of the term.
🌍 Focus on Balanced Regional Development
Currently, about 50% of the state’s GSDP comes from just 7 districts. Maha STRIDE aims to change this imbalance by preparing data-driven growth plans for all districts. CM Fadnavis emphasized that India’s vision of becoming a trillion-dollar economy by 2047 requires participation from every district, not just metropolitan regions.
🏛️ MITRA: A Key Driving Force
At the core of the Maha STRIDE initiative is the MITRA institution, involving district collectors, international bodies like the World Bank, private stakeholders, and local administrative teams. The plan focuses on evidence-based policymaking, efficient fund utilization, and ensuring continuity in governance irrespective of administrative changes.
🗺️ District Roadmaps Unveiled
District Collectors from six divisions — Nagpur, Amravati, Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Konkan, and Pune — presented detailed development proposals. This district-centric approach ensures inclusive growth reaching beyond major cities into rural and semi-urban areas.
🧭 Conclusion
Maha STRIDE is more than just an economic plan — it’s a commitment to inclusive development, sustainability, and performance-driven governance. With equal focus on all regions, Maharashtra is positioning itself as a stronger, more balanced contributor to India’s future economic success.
👉 Maha STRIDE is set to transform Maharashtra into a powerhouse of equitable growth and innovation.
