Banks to Remain Closed on June 27, 2025 in Select States: RBI Declares Holiday

As per the official holiday list issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), June 27, 2025 has been declared a bank holiday in certain states. The reason for this closure is the celebration of the Jagannath Rath Yatra. However, this holiday is not applicable across all of India — it is limited to the states of Odisha and Manipur.

On this day, branches of major public and private sector banks including State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda (BOB), Punjab National Bank (PNB), and ICICI Bank will remain closed in the affected states.

Customers, however, need not worry as digital banking services such as UPI, net banking, and ATMs will remain fully operational.

Three-Day Bank Closure in Affected States

Since June 27 falls on a Friday, it will be followed by June 28 (Fourth Saturday) and June 29 (Sunday), both of which are regular weekly offs for banks. This means banks in Odisha and Manipur will be closed for three consecutive days.

What About Other States?

Banks in all other states will remain open as usual on June 27. The holiday is region-specific and does not affect nationwide banking operations.

Conclusion

If you reside in Odisha or Manipur, make sure to complete any important banking tasks before June 27. For the rest of the country, bank branches will function normally without any disruption.
