Mumbai – The iconic comedy franchise Hera Pheri finds itself in the headlines once again, as uncertainty looms over the much-awaited third installment. With veteran actor Paresh Rawal’s reported exit from Hera Pheri 3, the film has landed in a controversy that has left fans divided and concerned.
Actor Akshay Kumar, who plays the beloved character Raju in the series, recently addressed the situation in an interview, expressing his hopes for a peaceful resolution. “Whatever is happening is in front of everyone. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I hope everything goes well,” Kumar said, reflecting cautious optimism.
The controversy reportedly began due to creative differences between Rawal and the makers. Sources suggest that the actor was not fully satisfied with the script and direction the film was taking. This led to his withdrawal, prompting Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Cinema, to take legal action. The production house has filed a claim of ₹25 crore against Rawal, seeking compensation and a return of his signing amount with interest.
Amid this development, speculations have emerged about a potential replacement for Rawal’s iconic role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte. Actor Pankaj Tripathi’s name is among those being considered. While some fans have welcomed the possibility of a fresh take on Baburao, others feel the role should remain untouched, given Rawal’s legendary performance.
Despite the ongoing legal and creative tensions, Akshay Kumar remains hopeful. “Everything will be fine,” he assured fans, hinting that efforts are being made to mend the situation.
