🚨 Young Doctor in Sangli Duped of ₹4.7 Lakh via Fake Matrimonial Profile

Sangli, Maharashtra – In a concerning case of online fraud, a young female doctor from Sangli has been cheated of ₹4.70 lakh after falling prey to a fraudster who created a fake profile on a matrimonial website.

According to police reports, the victim, a dentist by profession, had recently signed up on a well-known matrimonial platform in search of a suitable life partner. She soon came in contact with a man who identified himself as “Dalji Haku.” The man had created a false profile and gained her trust over a period of time through consistent interaction on the app and social media platforms.

After several conversations, the accused began fabricating reasons to request money. Posing as a genuine suitor with urgent “work-related” needs, he convinced the doctor to transfer a total of ₹4,70,131 in multiple transactions. Once the money was sent, the accused immediately stopped all communication and vanished.

Realizing she had been duped, the victim approached the Vishrambag Police Station in Sangli. An official FIR was registered under sections related to cheating and online fraud. Investigations are currently underway to trace the accused, who is believed to have operated under a false identity.

🛡️ Safety Tips for Matrimonial Platform Users:
