UPPSC in the News: CBI Investigation, Recruitment Protests, and Ongoing Notifications

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has made headlines recently due to developments in a CBI investigation, growing protests by job aspirants, and new recruitment notifications.

CBI Warns of Closing APS-2010 Recruitment Investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued a warning to UPPSC regarding the APS-2010 recruitment irregularities. In a letter dated May 26, 2025, the CBI stated that it has not received key documents and permissions needed to move forward with the investigation. If the Commission fails to respond by June 25, the case may be closed.

Originally referred to the CBI in 2018–19, the investigation centers on alleged corruption involving UPPSC officials. In its defense, UPPSC claims it is cooperating and that delays are due to the large volume of records.

TGT/PGT Exam Aspirants Demand Clarity

On June 17, teaching job aspirants staged a protest outside the UPSESSB office in Prayagraj, demanding transparency regarding the delayed TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) and PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) recruitment exams.

The recruitment, announced in June 2022 for over 4,000 posts, has been stalled repeatedly. While the TGT exam is tentatively scheduled for July 21–22, PGT exam dates remain uncertain. Protestors also called for other reforms, including allowing non-B.Ed. candidates and speeding up recruitment procedures.

Ongoing UPPSC Notifications

  • Staff Nurse Recruitment (Advt. A-3/E-1/2025): Apply before July 10, 2025.
  • Direct Recruitment (Advt. D-2/E-1/2025): Application deadline was June 16, 2025.

All candidates are advised to complete their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the official UPPSC website to stay eligible for future recruitments.

Conclusion

With critical developments in both legal investigations and recruitment delays, UPPSC is under scrutiny. While the CBI’s decision could shape the future of administrative accountability, aspirants continue to push for timely and fair recruitment.
